Janet Wolfe Carley, 79 of South Beloit, IL and formerly of Watseka

Janet Wolfe Carley, 79 of South Beloit, IL and formerly of Watseka passed away on Sunday March 31, 2024 at her home. She was born on June 27, 1944 in Kankakee a daughter of Harvey J. and Ruth Anna Carolina (Cordes) Creek. Janet married Jerry Wolfe in Danforth on June 3, 1967 and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2007. She later married Leon Carley in Watseka on February 7, 2015 and he survives. Also surviving are two step sons- Derek Carley and Damon (Jenn) Carley of South Beloit; three sisters- Mary Hurt of Clifton, Martha (Michael) Kristin of Tuscon, AZ, and Myrna (Tom) Conrad of Newburg, MD; three brothers- Tom Creek of Downing, MO, Richard Creek of Smithfield, UT, and David (Judy) Creek of Danville; sister in law- Janet Creek of Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother- James Creek, and one sister- Caroline Carley-Casley.

 

Janet was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Beloit, WI and a 2nd grade school teacher in Stockland for two years and Watseka for 36 years. She was a 51 year charter member of the Gamma Nu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary society of women educators.

 

Visitation will be on Friday April 12, 2024 from 4-7 pm at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Funeral services will be on Saturday April 13 at 10:30 am at First Christian Church in Watseka with Pastor Ben Stone officiating. Burial will be in Iroquois Memorial Park in Watseka.

 

Memorials may be made to the Unit 9 Academic Foundation.
