Rickie A. Eighnor, 72, of Sheldon passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 in his home surrounded by family.

 

He was born on November 24, 1951 in Watseka, a son of Everett and Elizabeth (Wagner) Eighnor. Rick married Kathy McKay on September 5, 1981 in Sheldon.

 

Surviving are his wife, three children, Eric (Stacy) Davenport of Kentland IN, Shannon (Dave) Randles of Clifton, and Alyssa Eighnor of Lafayette IN; nine grandchildren, Chelsie Brown, Cole Davenport, Cameron Davenport, Alexis Eighnor-Walters, Johnathan Randles, Caleb Clevenger, Joseph Randles, Emma Randles, and Daysin Eighnor; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Linda (Perry) Rentfro of Mode, Candy (Patrick) Piessens of East Chicago; one brother Dennis Eighnor of Quincy.

 

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Nichole Eighnor and one grandson, Daiton Eighnor.

 

Rick retired from JR Short Milling. He loved his family, Illini basketball, football, grilling, and mowing the lawn. He always made sure the people around him knew how much he cared for them.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the 6:00 pm funeral service at Baier Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

 

Memorials may be made to the Watseka Warrior Football Program.
