June Zeedyk, 99, of Onarga passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Gibson Community Hospital Annex. She was born on August 17, 1924 in rural Onarga, the daughter of Clyde and Marion (Osgood) Talbert. She married Russell Zeedyk in Onarga on January 20, 1946 and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Howard Talbert; one sister, Doris Nielson; and two grandchildren, Richard Kaeding and John Kollmeyer.

Surviving are five children, Marcia (Tim) Jesse of St. Joseph, Mary (Dennis) Kaeding of Onarga, Margaret (Bob) Kollmeyer of Summersville, MO, Ken Zeedyk of Onarga, and Janice (Ronnie) Harper of Summersville, MO; two brothers, Neil (Betsy) Talbert of Arizona and Robert (Bobbeye) Talbert of Utah; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Mrs. Zeedyk was a member of the Onarga Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She belonged to Questers Club, Friday the 14th in Thawville, and several card clubs. June worked as a Secretary at Farmers Pioneer in Onarga for over twenty years. She was a dedicated Cubs and Illini fan and loved flower and vegetable gardening.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga. Pastor Mark Crawford will officiate. Burial will follow at Onarga Cemetery.
