Wesley R. Clement, 97, of Watseka passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka. He was born September 10, 1921 in Watseka, the son of Herman and Bertha Boring Clement and they preceded him in death in addition to three brothers, Marion (Helen) Clement, Kenneth (Florie) Clement and an infant brother; one sister, Mildred (Bob) Hotaling; one son, William Martin Clement; and one son-in-law, Joe Elliott.
He married Theresa Martin on January 10, 1948 in Woodland and she survives. Also surviving are fourteen children, Larry (Sue) Hattabaugh of Milford, Marcia Elliott of Marion, Dana Clement of Watseka, Helen (Barry) Roberts of Frankfort, Lee (Pat) Clement of Darien, Lisa (Mark) Harris of Sevierville, TN, Jodi (John) Gibson of Pacific, MO, Don Jensen of Watseka, Donnie (Sandy) Hamende of Watseka, Dale (Liz) Hamende of Watseka, Janet (James) Bunting of Watseka, William John (Tira) Clement of Watseka, Linda (Amie) Clement of Oxford, IN and J.R. (Terri) Wynn of Danville; 28 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Clement was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Watseka, served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was an Alderman and Mayor of Watseka. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid White Sox fan, and was a passionate Watseka Warrior fan.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the 10:00 am funeral service on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Rev. Robert Sabo will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka with military graveside rites by the Watseka American Legion Post #23 and Iroquois County VFW Post #7450.
