Alma Emilie Schroeder, 92, of Danforth and formerly of Crescent City, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, May 18, 2018 at Faith Place in Danforth surrounded by her family.
Alma was born February 6, 1926 to John C. and Mary D. (Seggebruch) Luhman in Ash Grove Twp. She attended Parochial School in Woodworth and Milford High School. She married Lavern Schroeder November 21, 1943 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Woodworth. Their marriage was blessed with three children and 57 years together.
Survivors include a son, Clifford (Ruth) Schroeder of Chebanse and daughter, Delores (Bob) Butzow of Onarga. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Edgar Luhman of MN; one uncle, Melvin Seggebruch of Cissna Park; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Alice; and one brother, Clarence.
Alma enjoyed being a housewife and farmed alongside her husband until they retired. She was a 4-H leader for many years. She loved her flower gardens, quilting, and babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and her husband enjoyed being snowbirds for many years in AZ, and later Alma wintered in San Antonio near her granddaughter.
Alma was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Woodworth where a celebration of her life will be Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour beforehand. Rev. Michael Stoerger will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Woodworth.
Visitation will also be on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
