On Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 6:14am Newton County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of northbound US 41 near CR 1800 S (Newton/Benton Co Ln) for a report of a single vehicle roll-over crash.

The preliminary investigation by Sgt. Fellmy indicates a 2013 Toyota Highlander was traveling north on US 41, entered the median for unknown reasons, over-corrected causing the vehicle to leave the roadway.  The vehicle rolled multi times, ejecting the sole occupant.  A  37 year-old man from Dearborn County, Indiana was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the driver is being withheld pending family notification.
