On May 25th, 2025, Iroquois County Sheriffs Police arrested Dakota C. Hudspeth, age 32, of Gilman. According to police reports, deputies were dispatched to the Gilman Mini Mart for the report of a male subject sleeping in his vehicle. Deputies arrived and made contact with the male, who was identified as Hudspeth. During contact with Hudspeth, probable cause was obtained to search his vehicle. During the search deputies discovered suspected methamphetamine as well as controlled substances in the vehicle. Hudspeth was taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine more than 15 grams and 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Iroquois County Jail where he was later released with a notice to appear.
