An Iroquois County man died after his vehicle struck several trees

An Iroquois County man died after his vehicle struck several trees.

 

At approximately 4:54 p.m. on Friday, June 4, the Iroquois County Sheriff's Office investigated a single-vehicle crash on County Road 1500 East near 2530 North.

 

Law enforcement officials said a Dodge Ram was driving on County Road 1500 East when it left the roadway for an unknown reason.

 

The vehicle entered the east side ditch and kept traveling for about 275 feet, hitting two trees in the process.

Then, the vehicle went airborne and hit a third tree before coming to a rest near 2530 North.

 

The Dodge's driver was identified as 48-year-old Donald R. Heisner of L'Erable, Illinois.

 

Heisner was extracted from the vehicle and taken to Riverside Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

 

The Iroquois County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the crash.
