DRIVER: Unit One: Ismael Aldape, 50, Oak Lawn
Unit Two: Michael D. Latty Jr., 41, Momence (Deceased)
PASSENGERS: Unit One: Maria Portales, 51, Oak Lawn

PRELIMINARY: Preliminary investigation has indicated the GMC was traveling southbound on Route 1 near 10500N Rd in Kankakee County. The Chevrolet was traveling northbound at the same location. The GMC crossed over the center line and collided with the Chevrolet. The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced deceased on scene by Kankakee County Coroner. The passengers of the GMC were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Route 1 was closed for approximately 3 hours due to this incident.
CITATIONS: Aldape was issued a citation for improper lane usage.
