Categories: Obituaries

Beverly J. Norder-Nolin, 85, of Sheldon passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, October 26, 2026 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. She was born on December 22, 1940 in Watseka, a daughter of Henry R. and Esther (Zeidler) Norder. She married John Jay Nolin on March 7, 1964 in Watseka and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2025 in addition to her parents and one sister, Shirley Ann.

She is survived by twin daughters, Diana (Bill) Dyche of Bourbonnais and Debra (Scott) Weaver of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Jon (Nicole) Dyche, Allison Dyche, Kristin Weaver and Rachel (Brian) Rohman; two great-grandchildren, James Nolin Rohman and Evelyn Rohman; one brother, Robert Norder of Terre Haute, IN; two sisters, Barbara (Larry) VanHoveln of Sussix, WI and Karen (Jim) Kresca of Champaign; and several nieces and nephews.

Beverly was a graduate of Sheldon High School and attended Butler University. She was employed by the Sheldon School District #5 as their bookkeeper for a number of years.

Beverly was a faithful follower of Christ, and a lifetime member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka. She shared her musical gifts as the organist at Calvary Lutheran Church for over 40 years. She also served on the Ladies Guild at Calvary, and played the organ at Trinity Lutheran Church in Goodland, IN. Her dedicated service, strong faith, and love for her church was a blessing to many.

Affectionately known as "Grams" to her four grandchildren, she loved nothing more than gathering with family and attending her grandkids’ events and milestones as they grew. She also was very attached to her grand-dog Oliver, and spent as much time as she could with him. She recently welcomed her newest title, great-grandmother, wearing it with great joy and pride.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Friday, October 30, 2026 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka. Pastor Aaron Uphoff will officiate. Burial will follow at Sugar Creek Cemetery near Stockland.
