Gladys Anna Amelia Haase, 92, of Kankakee and Savoy, IL and formerly of Gilman passed away on August 21, 2026 at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, IL. She was born on May 7, 1934 in Metropolis, IL., the daughter of Herman and Hanna Bremer. Gladys worked in retail in Champaign, IL for a few years before she married Albert G. Haase on August 11, 1957 and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Melody Haase on December 15, 2025.
She is survived by one daughter Michelle Nimmons (Joel) Fishers, IN and two sons, Michael Haase (Alessandra Chiareli) of St. Paul, MN; Mark Haase (Cassie) Kankakee, IL and three grandchildren – Easton, Brigham and Ava Haase.
Gladys is survived by two sisters Georgia Ann Bremer, Geneva Barness and one brother Gerald Bremer.
Gladys was a former member of the American Lutheran Church in Bourbonnais, IL and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gilman, IL. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman with Rev. Vicki Killus officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilman Cemetery.
