Timothy W. Evans, 56, of Lafayette, Indiana passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at his residence. He was born on February 12, 1970 in Watseka, a son of Robert and Linda (Miller) Evans. Tim married Gretchen Storm on July 19, 1997 at St. John's Lutheran Church at Schwer.

 

He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Evans of Lafayette, Indiana; one daughter, Jozee (Chase) Donovan of Lafayette, Indiana; one son, Garrick Evans of Lafayette, Indiana; two brothers, Randy (Donna) Hiltz of Milford and Robert Evans Jr. of Lafayette, Indiana; one sister, Linda (Terry) Booth of Kokomo, Indiana; mother-in-law, Annette Storm of Milford; sister-in-law, Rachel (Joshua) Funk of Battle Ground, Indiana; brother-in-law, Robert (Melissa) Storm of Milford; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Tim was preceded in death by both of his parents; and father-in-law, Tim Storm.

 

Tim was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Schwer. He loved fishing, hunting, baseball, and coaching his children’s sports teams. Tim was very athletic and skilled at working with his hands, and he enjoyed building sound systems. He liked to volunteer at the Lafayette Urban Ministry. Tim’s sparkling personality brought laughter and joy to his family, friends, colleagues, teams, and those he served. He didn’t know a stranger.

 

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 5, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford. Memorial services will be on Monday, July 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church at Schwer. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Schwer.
