Steven M. Lee, 54, of Piper City passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026. He was born on June 1, 1971 in Gibson City, the son of Donald “Donnie” and Mary (Taylor) Jensen.

 

He is survived by his fiancée, Laura Lee Hack of Piper City; his mother, Mary Lee of Thawville; one son, Nathan Lee of Champaign; one step-son, Luke Althouse of Champaign; two sisters, Michelle (Ryan) Johnson of New Berlin and Dawn Hartke of Buckley; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his father; his adopted father, Michael Lee; and one brother, Chris Lee.

 

Steve was a truck driver for Sinn Trucking and enjoyed sports, boating, camping and spending time with his family.

 

A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. Burial will be held at a later date at Ridgeland Twp. Cemetery in Thawville.

 

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
