Janet Kay Guy, 81, of Ashkum passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 at her residence.
Janet was born on November 23, 1943 in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Edward and Edith (Neese) Sullivan and they preceded her in death. She married Gary Mark Guy on April 3, 1966 in Vallejo, CA and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2019. Janet and Gary lived in California, where she grew up, until they moved to Ashkum in 1968.
Janet attended beauty school in California and was a hairdresser for over 40 years in both California and the local area. She was skilled at sewing and enjoyed crafting. Janet was known for her positive outlook, quick laugh, and bringing joy to whatever she was doing.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathy L. (Brian) Guthrie of Tampa, FL; one son, Mark E. Guy of Normal, IL; five grandchildren (Kinley, Katy, Austin, Chevy, and Tyler); one sister, Carole (Joe) Benton of Felton, DE; and one brother-in-law, Hanley (Patty) Guy of Clifton.
Janet was a member of the Askum United Methodist Church as well as American Legion Auxiliary in Ashkum. She also served as an election judge for many years.
A memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. Burial will follow at the Ashkum Cemetery.
