Elsie Loraine Christensen, 98, of Kankakee passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 at Arcadia Care in Watseka. She was born on December 25, 1926 in Thawville, the daughter of Edwin and Elsie (Baker) Roach. She married Loyde W. Christensen and he preceded her in passing. She was also preceded in passing by her parents; two brothers, Edwin and Gerald Roach; and one sister, Floss Breeden.

 

She is survived by two sons, Carl (Linda) Christensen of Decatur and Brian (Judy) Christensen of St. Anne; six grandchildren, Carla (Jason) Stone, Dana (Jana) Christensen, Keith Christensen, Nick Christensen, Nicole Christensen, and Nathan Christensen; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

 

Elsie was a seamstress for many years.

 

Cremation rites are being handled by Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.

 

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at Clifton Cemetery.

 

Memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice.
