September 20, 2025. This is the day the Lord took Clarence Leroy Saxsma to his heavenly home. Clarence was born June 24, 1932 to Pete and Tena (Jansen) Saxsma. He attended a country school in Danforth. He started farming at age 16 until he retired in the Clifton area. He married Myrtle Kremer on February 20, 1954 at the Danforth Reform Church. They were blessed with 71 and a half years.

 

Surviving are his wife and children: Kent (Tracy) Saxsma, Karla (Ron) Siebring, Karmal (Lindon) Faull, and Kurt (Stephanie) Saxsma; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; brothers, Don Saxsma and Marvin (Judy) Saxsma; sisters, Loretta De Roos and Ruth Kjos; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard, George, and James; sisters, Bernice Perzee, Dorothy Huzinga, Florence Selk, and Viola Blystra; and grandson, Josiah Faull.

 

Clarence was a member of the River Valley Christian Fellowship Church. He enjoyed singing, refinishing furniture, taking care of his yard, and was a lifelong Cub fan. Clarence and Myrtle lived in the same neighborhood for 25 years and were blessed with wonderful neighbors. His faith came first, then family, friends, and farming (only with John Deere equipment).

 

The family would like to thank the staff of Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth and Uplifted Care for their wonderful compassionate, loving care.

 

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at the Danforth Reformed Church with Rev. Donald J. MacDonald III, Lindon Faull, and Sam Gobel officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Danforth Cemetery.

 

Memorials may be made to River Valley Christian Fellowship Church, Danforth Reform Church, or Prairieview Lutheran Home.

 

Arrangements are by the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
