Michael F. Spade Sr, 83, of Crescent City passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at his residence. He was born on August 1, 1942 in Hammond, Indiana, a son of Ernest and Irma (Ivie) Spade. They preceded him in death along with his step-father, Robert Mapes; one brother, Larry Spade; one sister, Phyllis McKee; and one son, Ronnie Spade.

 

Mike married Lanetta Harwood on March 20, 1966 in Watseka and she survives.

 

Also surviving are his son, Michael (Diana) Spade Jr of Bourbonnais; and one brother, Phillip (Vickie) Spade of Kansas.

 

Mike was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as a custodian at Watseka High School. Mike was also a very talented carpenter and loved to fish.

 

Per his wishes, there will be no services.

 

Burial will be at a later date in the Flesher Cemetery near Crescent City.

 

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
