Juanita J. Geiken, 98, of Claytonville passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton Senior Living. She was born on June 28, 1927 in Fountain Creek Township, a daughter of Bernand and Tillie (Brown) Mohler. Juanita married Marvin L. Geiken at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Schwer on April 28, 1946, and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2009.
Juanita is survived by two daughters, Donna Kopmann of Gifford, IL and Deborah Long of Lynnhaven, Florida; two sons, Deane (Cordelia) Geiken of Paxton, IL and Darryl (Tammy) Geiken of Crowley, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Karen Geiken of Cissna Park, IL; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by both of her parents; one son, David Geiken; one daughter, Darla Geiken; one sister, Barbara Saffell; and two sons-in-law, Stanley Kopmann and Bill Long.
Juanita was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Schwer. She was also a member of the Claytonville Civics Club. She worked for many years at the Tin Can Factory in Hoopeston and she enjoyed cooking for many restaurants and worked as a care giver.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park as well as one hour prior to the funeral services on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Schwer with Pastor Joe Frech officiating. Burial will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery at Schwer.
