John E. Gocken, 70, of Milford passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025 at his residence. He was born on March 25, 1955 in Watseka, a son of George and Doris (Bruniga) Gocken. John married Cheryl A. Wixon on May 6, 1979 in Milford and she preceded him in death on September 29, 2023.

 

John is survived by three daughters, Ricci (David) Dews of Mt. Holly, Arkansas, Nina (Todd) Surber of Milford, and Georgia (Kevin) Woodby of Milford; two sons, Jeremiah Gocken of Milford and Samual (Karey) Gocken of Buckley; one brother, Richard (Karen) Gocken of Crescent City; one sister, Martha Gocken of Crescent City; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

 

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by both of his parents; one brother, George Gocken, Jr.; and one sister, Carol Gocken.

 

John was a lifelong truck driver.

 

Cremation rites will be accorded by the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
