John C. Goldenstein, 94, of Danforth

John C. Goldenstein, 94, of Danforth passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. He was born on March 4, 1931 in Gilman, a son of Louis and Anna (Claussen) Goldenstein. John married Judy Luebchow on February 4, 1956 in Buckley.

 

He is survived by his wife, Judy Goldenstein of Danforth; two sons, Jay (Doris “Charlie”) Goldenstein of Onarga and Jon (Diane) Goldenstein of Watseka; daughter, Jill (Dave) Christy of Danforth; six grandchildren, Joel (Jill) Goldenstein, Jacob Goldenstein, Jordan (Larina) Goldenstein, Brenna (Justin) Schroeder, Quinn (Jake) Altick, and Kelli (Trent) Metzger; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

 

John was preceded in death by both of his parents; one brother; five sisters; and one grandson, Jim Goldenstein.

 

John was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Danforth. He loved buying and selling farm equipment, as well as his time spent farming. Most of all, John enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.

 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman and also one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Danforth with Pastor Tim Tammen and Rev. Ron Rasmussen officiating. Burial will follow in the Danforth Cemetery.

 

Memorials may be made to the Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth or St. John’s Lutheran Church in Danforth.
