Heidi Ann Barrett passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 23, at her home in Chebanse, IL.

Born August 13, 1981 in Kankakee, she was the daughter of Ron and Theresa (Demers) Lukow of Chebanse, IL.

 

Heidi attended Clifton Central Schools and graduated from Rocky Mountain Academy in Idaho.

 

She met Jason M. Barrett, the love of her life and future husband, in 2001 in Georgia where they lived until moving back to Chebanse in 2015. The soulmates married on January 13, 2017.

 

They shared a passion for American Bulldogs and provided a loving home over the years for past bulldogs Chaos, Mayhem and then Blaze. A six month old Halo now survives. She was an avid animal lover since birth and would constantly rescue and/or feed and cherish any type of animal she encountered in or outdoors. In addition to being the great Animal World Caretaker, Heidi worked at Amazon.com, Inc.

 

Heidi is survived by her husband, parents, a brother Kurt (Lesa) Lukow, their son Kohlton and his brother Bo Wilken of Clifton and his sisters Hallie and Hope Wilken of Florida. Also surviving are Jason’s family members in Georgia including his daughter, Sydney Barrett, a grandson, Tatum Barrett, his mother, Dwyana (Randy) Hanson, sister Christi (T.J.) Gilman and brother Keven Barrett.

 

Private visitation, services and burial for immediate and extended family members will be held at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to River Valley Animal Rescue (RVAR) 3960 Vincennes Trail, Momence, IL 60954. RVAR is currently in need of donations after a recent fire.
