Donald L. Sexton, 73, of Cissna Park passed on February 18, 2025 at Miller Rehabilitation Center in Kankakee.

 

Donald was born on March 3, 1951 in Kankakee, the son of Stanley F. and C. Joy (Russell) Sexton and they preceded him in death along with one brother, Jim.

 

Donald married Joyce Parton on December 30, 1972 in Bradley and she survives.

 

Besides his wife, Joyce Sexton of Cissna Park, he is survived by one daughter, Julie (Mark) Karas of Cissna Park; one son, Brent Sexton of Watseka; two grandchildren, Tricia and Emily Karas; and one sister, Linda (Mike) Minor of Kankakee.

 

Donald served in the United States Air Force for six years. Donald was a member of Hoopeston Church of Nazarene. He loved, God, his family, and friends – especially his grandchildren to which he was known as Papa. Donald enjoyed model trains and was an avid sports fan of football and baseball.

 

A memorial visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Hoopeston Church of Nazarene. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Tom McCann and Ashely Clifton officiating.

 

Memorials may be made to the family’s wishes.
