Rodney L. Daniels, 73, of Brook, IN passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Franciscan Health in Rensselaer, IN. He was born on September 16, 1951 in Watseka, a son of Russell and Virginia (Stephenson) Daniels and they preceded him in death in addition to three brothers, Dennis, Darryl and Doug Daniels; and one daughter, Tracy Sanders.

 

He married Janice Gipson on August 15, 1987 in Brook, IN and she survives. Also surviving are three sons, Terry (Glennda) Sanders of Brook, IN, Jeremia Daniels of Gilman and Jason (Amy) Daniels of Watseka; one daughter, Teona (Jason) Hall of Brook, IN; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlene Highfill of Milford and Elizabeth Daniels of Milford; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Rodney served in the National Guard. He was a retired Track Foreman for Union Pacific Railroad and worked there for more than 25 years. He loved his friends and family and would do anything for them, anytime. Rodney’s passion was cooking, spending time with his family and watching his grandkids play sports.

 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka with Ed Highfill officiating. Burial will follow at GAR Cemetery in Watseka.

 

There will be a meal provided at the Elks Lodge in Watseka following the burial for all who wish to attend.
