Roger D. Reed, 81, of Watseka passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at his residence. He was born on December 21, 1943 in Watseka, a son of Marshall L. and Evelyn A. (Bury) Reed. Roger married Carolyn L. Rieches on June 25, 1967 in Woodworth and she preceded him in death on April 28, 2022.
Roger is survived by one daughter, Jean (Randy) Lauterbach of Milford; one son, Jeff (Tram Nguyen) Reed of Danville; one brother, James (Christa) Reed of Fuldatal, Germany; three grandchildren, Tyler Lauterbach, Jessica Spry and Jacob Reed; two great-grandchildren, Aubrienanna Grace Reed and Knoxley Gray Spry; and nephew, Tony Reed.
Roger was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Marshall Reed Jr.; one sister, Elaine Ruth Reed; and one grandson, Jeffrey M. Reed.
Roger worked at Uarco/Standard Register in the office for many years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict. Roger was an active member of the Watseka American Legion Post 23, AmVets, and the VFW. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford with Pastor Doug Minton officiating. Burial will follow at the Sugar Creek Cemetery near Stockland. Graveside military rites will be provided by the Watseka American Legion Post 23.
