Wanetta Irene Cross-Waltz, 86, of Elkhorn, Wisconsin went to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Lakeland Health Care in Elkhorn. She was born February 24, 1938 in Watseka, IL, a daughter of Robert and Helena Marie (Wilken) Gossett. Wanetta married Robert Waltz on August 1, 1975 and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2010.
Survivors include five sons from Milford: Mark (Beverly) Cross, Steven (Sue) Cross, Rodney (Barbara) Cross, John Cross, and David (Sandy) Cross, Elkhorn, WI; sister, Phyllis Sharpe, Florida; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Judy Gossett; and great-grandson, Levi Cross.
Wanetta worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She served as an usher and extension committee member for the University of Illinois. Her favorite things were Jesus, family, friends, travel, bible studies, and prison ministries.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. with a Celebration of Life at 10:30 a.m. at Living Hope Church, Watseka with Pastor Ben Stone officiating. Burial will be at Danville National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
