J. Ricardo Ramirez-Rico, 82, of Onarga passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at his residence. He was born on April 19, 1942 in Gervacio Mendoz, Guanajuato, Mexico, a son of Salvador and Guadalupe (Rico) Ramirez. They preceded him in death along with four brothers, two sisters, and one son, Juan Gabriel Ramirez.
Ricardo married Maria Teresa Zavala Gervacio in Mexico and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Luis Alberto (Josefina) Ramirez of Onarga and Jose Ricardo (Erendira) Ramirez of Onarga; one daughter, Tereza de Jesus Ramirez (Carlos Ochoa) of Onarga; three sisters, Isabella Ramirez of Blue Island, Josefina Ramirez of Elgin and Maria (Manuel) Jungo of Elgin; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Ricardo was a member of the Immaculate Conception/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gilman. He loved baseball and soccer.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gilman with Fr. Santiago Corona officiating. Burial will follow in the Onarga Cemetery.
