Mary M. Hill, 99, of Watseka passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka. She was born on March 13, 1925 in Gate City, Virginia, a daughter of Francis and Alpha (Compton) Elliott. Mary married Lester Hill in August of 1941 in Illinois and he preceded her in death in September of 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; three sisters; one grandson, Randy Hill; and one great-grandchild.

 

Mary is survived by one son, Richard Hill of Watseka; two daughters, Darlene Popadak and Judy Sadler both of Spring Valley, Minnesota; one brother, Jack Elliott of Milford; five grandchildren, Rod (Brenda) Hill, Kim Ammerman, Brian Popadak, Karen (Brad) Stephans and Kathy (Tom) Graves; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

 

Mary was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, reading and golfing.

 

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Prairie Dell Cemetery near Iroquois.

 

Arrangements are by the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
