Mary L. Bell, 90, of Watseka passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at her residence. She was born on November 23, 1934 in Donovan, the daughter of Clyde and Irma (Swanson) Easter. She married Maurice “Gene” Bell in Donovan on February 6, 1954 and he preceded her in passing on December 13, 2013.
Surviving are one son, Brian (Lynn) Bell of Sheldon; three daughters, Karen (Alan) Schriefer of Springville, UT, Linda Carey of Watseka, and Anita Wyatt of Sheldon; five grandchildren, Michael Bell, Shauna (Zach) Fleming, Matthew Carey, Elissa Buswell, and Adam (Cara) Schriefer; and five great grandchildren, Wren Fleming, Olive Fleming, Ian Fleming, Kinsey Bell, and Addison Schriefer.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in passing by her parents; one brother, Clyde Easter Jr; and three son in laws, Brian Carey, Tom Wyatt, and Mike Keller.
Mary loved to travel and enjoyed gambling with her family. She worked at Sheldon Schools for many years as the head cook and loved to spend time with her family. Mary looked forward to her annual girl’s vacation with her daughters and granddaughter.
A celebration of life gathering of friends will be from 4:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Private family graveside services will be at Sheldon Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or Donor’s Choice.
