Mary E. Hurt, 78, of Crescent City passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Arcadia Care in Clifton. She was born on October 17, 1945 in Kankakee, the daughter of Harvey J. and Ruth (Cordes) Creek. She married Charles Garyon Hurt on June 11, 1966 in Watseka and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Creek; two sisters, Caroline Casley and Janet Wolfe-Carley; and one grandchild, Kolin.
She is survived by one son, Bradley (Tonya) Hurt of Clifton; two granddaughters, Kyra (Joshua) Wolfe and Kali Hurt; two sisters, Martha (Michael) Kristin of Tucson, AZ and Myrna (Tom) Conrad of Newburg, MD; three brothers, Tom Creek of Downing, MO, Richard Creek of Smithfield, UT and David (Judy) Creek of Danville; and sister-in-law, Janet Creek of Bloomington.
Mrs. Hurt was a member of Trinity Church of Watseka. She was the owner and operator of Mary’s Hairdressing for many years.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Trinity Church of Watseka. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. also on Sunday at the church. Pastor Ryan Mustered and Pastor Bart Koester will officiate. Burial will follow at the Gilman Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Benevolence Fund.
