Rhonda J. Harris, 48, of Watseka passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She was born on May 31, 1976 in Watseka, a daughter of Shirley Sorensen and Ronnie Gagnon. Rhonda married Toby L. Harris in Watseka on July 26, 1997 and he survives.

 

Also surviving are one daughter, Maci Harris and her partner, Justin, of Bradley; one son, Daison (Kayla) Harris of Champaign; one grandchild, Archer of Bradley; mother, Shirley Verkler of Watseka; and father, Ron (Cindy) Gagnon of Kankakee.

 

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ryan Gagnon; her sister, Renee Gagnon; and her step-father, Ross Verkler.

 

Rhonda was a member of the First Christian Church in Watseka. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and crocheting. Rhonda loved to volunteer on Mission Trips, in Food Kitchens, and in Women’s Shelters. She worked as a bookkeeper for construction, agriculture, and daycare. Most of all, Rhonda loved her faith and spending time with her family.

 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024 at the First Christian Church in Watseka with Pastor Aaron VanderMolen officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka.
