Arlene L. Pruitt, 99, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and formerly of Milford, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Heritage Pointe of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on December 7, 1924 in Milford, a daughter of Clarence and Fern (Mayhew) Carter. Arlene married James D. Pruitt in Milford on June 27, 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1997.
She is survived by one daughter, Dianne (Dan) Potter of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Cody Pruitt of Frisco, Colorado, Clint (Tisha) Pruitt of Hoopeston, Scott (Megan) Potter of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Kristin (Brian) Rumschlag of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and four great-grandchildren, Owen and Sawyer Potter and Evan and Harrison Rumschlag.
Arlene was also preceded in death by both of her parents; two brothers, Robert Carter and Lloyd “Sonny” Carter; one son, David Pruitt; and one great-grandson, Elliot Rumschlag.
Arlene was a graduate of Milford High School. She was a former member of the Wellington United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford. Burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery near Stockland.
