Leola M. Rader-Rabe, 94, of Crescent City passed away on August 4, 2024 at her residence. She was born on April 30, 1930 in Watseka, a daughter of William R. and Gertrude (Norder) Lucht and they preceded her in death. Leola married Jack W. Rader on February 11, 1950 in Crescent City and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1994. She later married Robert K. Rabe on September 2, 2001 in Cabool, Missouri and he preceded her in death on May 12, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her foster brother, Reinhardt Norder; foster sister, Loretta Storm; and two grandchildren.

 

Leola is survived by seven children, Steve Rader of Crescent City, Sandy Howard of West Lebanon, Indiana, Doug (Judy) Rader of Lincoln, Debra (Scott) Wilken of Danforth, Rick (Kimberly) Rader of Onarga, Dan (Cindy Casazza) Rader of Lake Suzy, Florida, and Gary Rader of Erie, Pennsylvania; 23 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; 7 step-daughters, 11 step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-great grandchildren.

 

Leola was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Crescent City, where she belonged to the WELCA. She enjoyed gardening, reading, camping, and baking.

 

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Crescent City with Pastor Joel Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery south of Crescent City.

 

Memorials may be made to the St. Peter Lutheran Church or to Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth.
