Stanley I. Elliott, 79, of Watseka passed away on August 7, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee. He was born on December 24, 1944 in Paxton, a son of Cecil Elliott and Elsie (Hill) Elliott and they preceded him in death, along with his grandparents; step-mother, Norma Elliott; brothers, Paul, Cecil K., William Joe, Robert Elliott; Mother-in-Law and Father-in-Law, Dorothy and Donald Zeller; and Sister-in-Law, Deanna Elliott.
Stan married Jeanne (Zeller) Elliott on June 18, 1971 in Watseka and she survives. Also surviving are one son, Todd (Judy) Elliott; grandchildren, Andrew and Hannah Elliott; brother, Richard “Rick” (Robin) Elliott; Sisters-in-Law, Donna Elliott and Marsha Elliott; Brothers-in-Law, Jerry (Jan) Zeller and Tom (Paula) Zeller.
Stan was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War earning Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal. Stan worked at B&M Machine Shop, Howard Industries, T&D Metal Products, and Remline. Stan was an exceptional reader, reading over 15,000 books since his retirement. He was an avid golfer and loved to play cards with his friends. Stan was a master of completing crossword puzzles. Stan was elected twice as Exalted Ruler for the Watseka Elks Lodge and was elected twice as Shewami’s Country Club’s President.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug 10, 2024 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka with graveside military rites by Watseka American Legion Post 23.
Memorials may be made to the Watseka Public Library or Shewami Country Club.
