George Wilson Sennett, 86, of Sheldon passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Faith Place in Danforth. He was born on July 25, 1937 in Mason City, Nebraska, a son of Harold and Vida (Johnson) Sennett. They preceded him in death along with two brothers, Jack Sennett and David Sennett; and one son, Greg Sennett.
George married Arlene Laird in Sarasota, Florida on February 1, 1985 and she survives in Sheldon. Also surviving are one daughter, Deanna Caron of Hinckley; one step-son, Jim (Karen) Yana of Sheldon; two step-daughters, Melinda (Joe) Kidwell of Fowler, Indiana; Melody Schad of Mokena; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
George enjoyed helping out with the Sheldon Fun Days and also playing sports in high school. He loved attending family gatherings and watching his grandchildren play. He was a long-time electrician and farmer in the Sheldon area.
A Graveside Service will take place at 11:00 on Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Sheldon Cemetery in Sheldon with Pastor Roy Johnson officiating.
Arrangements are made by the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the First Christian Church in Watseka or to Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
