Renee McMillan, 60, of Gilman passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee. She was born on August 24, 1963 in Olathe, Kansas, a daughter of Stanley Thompson and Linda Riley. Renee married Greg McMillan in Watseka on December 22, 2021.
Surviving are her husband, Greg McMillan of Gilman; her children, Justin (Abbey) Cox of Spring Hill, Kansas, Jami (Rob) Tiarks of Osawatomie, Kansas, and Jennifer (Jay) Lanning of Pontiac; four grandchildren, Thomas, Madison, Jett and Riggin; mother, Linda Holland of Gardner, Kansas; father, Stan Thompson of Wellsville, Kansas, sister, Kathy (Mark) Wilmoth of Gardner, Kansas; brother, Stan (Patty) Thompson Jr. of Gardner, Kansas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Renee was the active Superintendent at the Iroquois County Fair for the Horse Barn. She was secretary for the KWI Saddle Club in Limestone. Renee was the former secretary for the Illinois High School Rodeo Association. She loved teaching kids how to ride and take care of horses. Renee also worked for the McMillan Insurance Services in Piper City.
A Public Graveside Service will take place at noon on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Gilman Cemetery in Gilman with SAM Lynn Culkin officiating.
Arrangements are by the Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman.
