Marion E. Wainwright, 93, of Clifton passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at her home. She was born on January 4, 1931 in Posen, IL, the daughter of Walter and Josephine (Kolodziej) Stolarz. She married Robert B. Wainwright Sr. in Harvey, IL, on May 7, 1955 and he preceded her in passing on August 22, 2014.
She is survived by one son, Daniel (Rebecca) Wainwright of Clifton; four daughters, Ann (Mark) McNabb of Marion, Carol Wainwright of Bourbonnais, Diane (Eugene Briner) Dircks of Dwight, and Marilyn Wainwright of Clifton; twelve grandchildren, Laura (Josh) Benningfield, Dana (Matt) Uddleson, Charles Wainwright, Brandy Beaver, Marilyn (Derek) Schultz, Madison (Jimmy) Zaid, Triston (Leah) Dircks, Zachary (Jennifer) Wainwright, Mitchell (Michelle) Wainwright, Tyler Robison, Benjamin Robison, and Jeremiah Norris; nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and many more who called her Grandma.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Robert B. Wainwright Sr.; three brothers; four sisters; and one son, Robert B. Wainwright Jr.
Mrs. Wainwright was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clifton. She enjoyed dancing, reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, attending musicals and plays, and attending to her flower gardens. Marion loved catching frogs with her grandsons and visiting with her family and friends.
Memorial visitation will be on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 11:00-1:00 pm at St. Peter’s Catholic Parish Hall in Clifton. Memorial mass will immediately follow next door at 1:00 pm at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Fr. Vern Arseneau will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Clifton.
