Barbara Lavoie-Munsterman, 71, of St. Anne passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. She was born on June 23, 1952 in Watseka, a daughter of Melvin and Shirley (Schmitt) Lavoie and they preceded her in death. Barbara married Kenton Munsterman on September 4, 1993 in rural Milford and he survives of St. Anne.

She is survived by one daughter, Dannyel Kafer of Alameda, CA; one son, Nathan (Jen) Kafer of Bourbonnais; two step-daughters, Ashley (Kyle) Denny of Momence and Faith(Melissa) Munsterman of Bloomington; grandchildren, William Funk of Munster, IN, Payton Kafer of Bourbonnais and Fynn Kafer of Bourbonnais; Step-grandchildren, Abby Cyr of Aroma Park, Gavin Ladd of Momence, Kenzie Seabert of Momence, Carson Denny of Momence and Cooper Denny of Momence; Four Sisters, Jean (Ty) Herron of Crescent City, Mary (Scott) Quinn of Bloomington, Michel Lavoie of Austin, TX and Angie (Aaron) Taylor of Donovan; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by one sister, Pam Fink; one son, Matthew Kafer; one step-daughter, Kimberly Seabert and one step- son-in-law, Jamin Seabert.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crescent City, where she was a former member of the CCW. Barbara worked at Martin Whalen in Kankakee and later in the office at Turk Furniture. She enjoyed designing jewelry, dancing and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka with Rev. Michael Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka.

Memorials may be given to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or the donor’s choice.
