Benny Lee Cahoe, 68, of Watseka

Benny Lee Cahoe, 68, of Watseka, passed away on February 24, 2024 at his home in Watseka.

Benny was born on September 25, 1955 in Watseka, IL to Benhardt Cahoe and Patsy Sapp and they preceded him in death along with one brother, Tommy Cahoe, and two grandchildren, Kayden Cahoe and Kyle Martin.

Surviving are his children, Bobby (Cortney) Cahoe of Glouster, OH, Benhardt (Kristin) Cahoe of West Lafayette, IN, Jeromy Martin of Bloomington, IL; his brothers, Bill (Penny) Cahoe of Yorktown, IN, Fred (Peggy) Cahoe of Watseka, Jerry Cahoe of Watseka, and Chuck Cahoe of Watseka; his sisters, Betty Kessinger of Watseka, Patricia (Zoher) Fatakdawala of Watseka, Kathy Neal of Watseka, IL, and Debra Cahoe of Watseka; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Benny worked for the City of Watseka for thirty-eight years and four months (not that he was counting), retiring as Superintendent of the Watseka Public Works Department. Mr. Cahoe was most comfortable at home in his recliner watching Westerns or watching the kids play. His favorite place was at the gambling machines trying to hit it big. He had a love for horses - and was especially fond of paint horses. Benny leaves behind a large family including numerous honorary children and grandchildren that he had taken under his wing over the years. The family takes great comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his beloved granddaughter, Kayden May Cahoe.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Pastor Joe Hughes will officiate. Burial will follow at G.A.R. Cemetery in Watseka.

Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
