Jewell R. Eilts, 90 of Watseka passed

Jewell R. Eilts, 90 of Watseka passed away on Thursday February 8, 2024 at The Citadel of Bourbonnais.  She was born on October 18, 1933 in Roberts, a daughter of Noel Christmas and Ethel (Mosiman) Cox.  Jewell married Henry Eilts in Onarga on May 2, 1954 and he preceded her in death in 2001.   Survivors include two daughters- Debbie (Dave) Gudeman of Watseka and Pam Eilts (Dana Parker) of Zephyrhills, FL; one grandson- Nicholas Gudeman (Jared Feldman) of Chicago; two brothers- Bill Cox of Kankakee and Jerry Cox of Kankakee; one sister- Cindy (Tom) Carney of Kankakee; and special friend- Esther Andreas.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother- Bob Cox, and two sisters in laws- Pat Cox and Mary Ann Cox.

Jewell was a member of Watseka United Methodist Church, enjoyed line dancing, and helped coach and kept score for the American Legion baseball team and girls softball team.  She worked at TRW Condenser, Littlefuse, JCPenney, Walmart, MainSource Bank, Catholic Charities, and was a beautician for many years.  Jewell and her family managed the concession stand at Legion Park for 8 years.

Visitation will be on Tuesday February 13, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Funeral services will be on Wednesday February 14, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Knapp Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Milton officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka.

Memorials may be made to the Unit 9 Academic Foundation or donor’s choice.
