Marie Ann Norton, 88, of Watseka passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
Marie was born on January 2, 1935 in Lyman Twp., the daughter of Gustav and Elizabeth (Kietzman) Johnson and they preceded her in death. She married James C. Norton on July 17, 1957 in Nashville, TN and he preceded her in death on July 28, 2012. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Butch and Gustav “Dunk” Johnson and one sister, Rosamond “Minnie” Bleich.
She is survived by one daughter, Julie (Rodger) Morefield of Watseka; one son, Bill (Linda) Norton of El Paso; four grandchildren, Ryan (Alyse) Morefield of Watseka, Tyler (Jacqueline Grim) Morefield of Watseka, Taylor Norton of Bloomington and Nicholas Norton of Lexington; two great-grandchildren, Oliver Norton and Rowan Norton; two brothers, Gary (Sheila) Johnson of Gilman and Ray (Rita) Johnson of Gibson City; and two sisters-in-law, Chod Johnson of Iowa and Nancy Johnson of Thawville.
Marie was a member of First Christian Church in Watseka. She worked as the Dietary Manager at Iroquois Memorial Hospital for several years.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Pastor Roy Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Dell Cemetery in Iroquois.
