Dorothy A. Wade, 86, of Clifton passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth. She was born on March 31, 1937 in rural Danforth to Harvey and Rachel (Ewerks) Wilken. She married James Wade on September 29, 1956 in Clifton. Her husband and her parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by her four children, daughter, Jacqualine (Larry) Johnson of Levelland, Texas; sons, Jay Wade of Nashville, Tennessee, Kip (Laura) Wade of Danforth, and Chet (Brenda) Wade of Gilman; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Wilken of Carson City, Nevada and Jerry Rasmussen of Chebanse.

Dorothy was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Clifton, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School for a number of years. She was dedicated to her nursing profession and was a nurse at area hospitals and nursing homes for over 35 years. Dorothy enjoyed being a farm wife, raising animals, and visiting with her friends and neighbors.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Prairieview Lutheran Home for their 10 years of compassionate, loving care. The memories shared at Prairieview will stay with us for years to come.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman and one-hour prior at the church. Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Clifton with Rev. Joel Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashkum Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church in Clifton or Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth.
