Frederic L. Bell, 78, of Kankakee passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Aperion Care in Bradley. He was born on April 7, 1944 in Villa Ridge, IL, the son of Carter and Britha (Williams) Bell.

Surviving are a host of nieces and nephews; one brother in law, Robert Sowell of Kankakee; and one sister in law, Sylvia Bell of Kankakee.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; four sisters, Bridie Ann Smith, Patricia Wicks, Charlotte Winfield, and Sandra Sowell; and five brothers, Carter Bell Jr, Charles Bell, Lloyd Bell, William Bell, and Ronald Bell.

Frederic was a graduate of Gilman High School as well as Philander Smith College in Little Rock, AR. He was a tennis instructor and coach for many years at Bishop Mcnamara and was a football coach at Momence High School. He taught math at Momence, Manteno, and Bishop Mcnamara High Schools. Mr. Bell enjoyed playing the lotto and his scratch off cards.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. Burial will follow at Gilman Cemetery in Gilman.
