William Harry Nottke, 93 of Clifton

William Harry Nottke, 93 of Clifton passed away on Thursday December 29, 2022 peacefully at his home. He was born on February 22, 1929 in Otto Twp., Kankakee County the son of Harry and Pearl (Munyon) Nottke. William married Adeline M. Brinkman in Kankakee of February 11, 1950 and she preceded him in death on January 28, 2011. Also preceding him in death were two sisters- Ruth Harms and Helen Cox; and one daughter-in-law, Laura Nottke.

Survivors include three children, William Nottke Jr. of St. Louis, MO, Cynthia Cailteux of Clifton, and Alan (Pamela) Nottke of Bourbonnais; eight grandchildren, Crystal (Greg) Mueller, Ashley (Luke) Wilson, Leslie Simmons, Chad (Susan) Cailteux, Troy (Jamie) Cailteux, Brandt (Christina) Nottke, Daniel (Channing) Nottke, and Alicia (Darren) Ziskovsky; eleven great-grandchildren, Drew Simmons, Kate Cailteux, Kira Cailteux, Pierce Cailteux, Addison Cailteux, Bennett Mueller, Hudson Mueller, Paisley Mueller, William Wilson, Parker Wilson, and Cooper Wilson.

William was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Kankakee where he served as a former trustee and on the memorial committee. He was a lifelong farmer and member of the Illinois Farm Bureau and served on the ASCS board for 15 years. He was also a member of the Kankakee Elks, Bradley Moose, and president of former Quadrille Dance Club. William enjoyed traveling with his wife and family to many places, flying, fishing, and reading. As a child, William wore his aviator goggles and watched every airplane he could find. With his own young children many Sundays after church, he would stop at Koerner Airport. After many years and the children were grown, he purchased his own airplane and flew with anyone who wanted to ride with him.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Kankakee with Rev. Scott Henley officiating and with a one hour visitation prior starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee.

Memorials may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church or Uplifted Care.
