Nancy L. Quakenbush, 85 of Watseka

Nancy L. Quakenbush, 85 of Watseka passed away on Wednesday December 21, 2022 at her home. She was born on July 1, 1937 in Woodland the daughter of James W. and Adelia (Ulitzsch) Ailey. Nancy married Gene Quakenbush in Milford on January 27, 1956 and he preceded her in death on August 10, 2018. Survivors include two daughters - Vicky (Janice) Quakenbush of Kankakee and Cindy (Dennis) Young of Cissna Park; six grandchildren - Mike (Kandace) Rogers, Jacob (Michaela) Young, Jessica (James) Doudera, Joshua (Amaria) Young, Jeremy Young, and Rachel Wright; nine great grandchildren; four brothers - Norman (Linda) Ailey of Ashkum, Wendell (Fiona) Ailey of Woodland, Wayne Ailey of Sheldon, and Don Ailey of Watseka; three sisters - Nelda (Bobby) Roth of Watseka, Donna (Bruce) Suver of Onarga, and Lila (Larry) Hill of Champaign; sister in laws - Karen Bolen of Cissna Park, Mary Quakenbush of WI, and Diane Quakenbush of TN; She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother - William Ailey, one sister - Wanda Bull, three brothers- in-law - John Bolen, Jim Quakenbush, Lamar Quakenbush, two sisters-in-law - Barbara Ahlden, Betty Ailey.

The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thank you to neighbors Don and Cheryl Hemp, Jack Trudeau, and Iroquois Memorial Hospice most notably: Julie, Erica, Shari, and Tricia for all their care and support of our mother.

Nancy attended the United Methodist Church. Nancy’s hobbies included gardening, baking (best carrot cake ever), and feeding her hummingbirds. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family. She was a supervisor at Chicago Steel Tape in Watseka until her retirement.

Funeral services will be held on Monday January 2, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Knapp Funeral Home 219 S. 4th St., Watseka with Pastor Ashley Clifton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Body Cemetery in Woodland.

Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
