Mary Lou Davis, 94, of Watseka

Mary Lou Davis, 94, of Watseka passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Arcadia Care in Clifton.

Mary Lou was born on November 23, 1928 in Watseka, the daughter of James A. “Bruce” and Alma (Ziehr) Fidler. She married Elvan “Wimpy” Davis on June 11, 1948 in Kankakee and he preceded her in death on November 5, 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Catherine Fidler; one son, Scott Davis; three brothers, Bruce, Gene, and Bob Fidler; two grandsons, Chandler Davis and Chance Billings.

She is survived by one son, Logan (Sandra) Davis of Charleston; two daughters, Julie (Kelly) Langellier of Martinton and Jodie (Tim) Billings of Watseka; one daughter-in-law, Mari Jo (Curt) Everroad of Bloomington; thirteen grandchildren, Nathan (Cheri) Davis, Erica (Dominic) Perrino, Mark (Tina) Webster, Kristin (Chris) Ishmiel, Justin (Ellen) Davis, Joshua Davis, Brandon (Heather) Arseneau, Mandi (Jeremiah) Askew, Lane (Russell) Walters, CayLee (Ryan) Savoie, Brock Frederickson and Heather Trella, Kyra Hankey, and Rachel Billings; thirty great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou was a secretary at Roberts Clinic in Watseka for thirty years and a telephone operator in Watseka for fifteen years. She was extremely active in community service, having been honored as Times Republic Citizen of the Year and Modern Woodman Hometown Hero. She enjoyed working outside, flowers, reading, and was a Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, and Fighting Illini fan.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Monday, December 26, 2022 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Mandi Askew and Lane Walters will officiate. Burial will follow at GAR Cemetery in Watseka.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
