Richard Wayne “Rick” Eighner, 72, of Watseka, IL, passed away at 1:18 A.M. Thursday December 22, 2022, at his home. He was born September 20, 1950, in Watseka, IL, the son of Donald and Eunice (Day) Eighner. He married Barbara Leavitt in Potrero, CA in September of 1973. She survives in Watseka, IL. 

He is also survived by two daughters, Korene (Jason) Scharp of Gilman, IL and Carley (Brad) Meyer of Gilman, IL; one son, Justin (Jill) Eighner of Maroa, IL; 6 grandchildren, Adelynn and Amelia Scharp, Kane and Klaire Eighner, and Jude and Finn Meyer; one sister, Carolyn Schmohe of Okeechobee, FL; one brother, David Eighner of Okeechobee, FL; one brother-in-law, Steven Morts of Milford, IL; and 5 nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Donna Morts; and one brother-in-law, Ronald Schmohe. 

Rick served in the United States Army and then became a life-long farmer. He was a member of the Watseka United Methodist Church. He served on the Woodland Fire Protection District where he was also a trustee. Rick enjoyed golfing and camping with his family. 

Per his wishes, he will be cremated, and no services will be held.
