Cheryl Ann Gillins, 76, of Wellington, IL, passed away at 3:32 P.M. Wednesday November 30, 2022, at her home. She was born December 25, 1945, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Herman Murray and Ruth Elizabeth (King) Pugh. She married Gary Gillins in March 1968, and he preceded her in death.  

She is survived by one daughter, Beth (Steve) Totheroh of Milford, IL; one son, Eric (Jordan) Reece of Friendsville, TN; one brother, Jerry (Cheryl) Pugh of Wellington, IL; one sister-in-law, Jean Lockhart of Hoopeston, IL; three grandchildren, Alissa (Joe) Warner, Lauren Totheroh, and Trey Totheroh; and four nieces and nephews, Scott (Cindy) Lockhart, Dawn (Skip) Crusinberry, Jered (Samantha) Pugh, and Jesse Pugh. 

In addition to her husband, Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Merle Lockhart. 

Cheryl worked for many years at the Wellington State Bank and Community Bank. She was the co-owner, with Gary, of Gillins Oil Co. and Hoopeston Monument. She was a member of Prairie Green Church of Christ and later became a member of the Milford Christian Church where she was very active volunteering, attending Bible study, playing the piano for church activities, and accompanying many singing groups. Cheryl was also a member of the Young at Heart Game Group, the Friday Night Supper Club, and enjoyed 19 years in Book Club. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting and always showed great hospitality to family and friends. 

A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday December 8, 2022, at Milford Christian Church, 811 E. Hickory St., Milford, IL. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday December 9, 2022, at the church with Pastor Brent Zastrow and Pastor Ed Highfill officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
