Dean A. Yergler, 83, of Watseka passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at his residence.
Dean was born on September 19, 1939 in Watseka, the son of Elmer and Vera (Freidinger) Yergler and they preceded him in death along with one sister, Barbara Yergler. He married Karen K. Hofer on January 10, 1960 at Schwer and she survives.

Besides his wife, Karen Yergler of Watseka, he is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Craig) Hilgendorf of Donovan and Gayle (Tod) Fletcher of Iroquois; one son, Andy (Jen) Yergler of Ft. Wayne, IN; seven grandchildren, Marc (Lora) Hilgendorf, Aaron (Jen) Hilgendorf, Holli (Joe) VanHoveln, Anthony (Joscelyn) Fletcher, Nick (Leah) Fletcher, Sydney Yergler, and Alex Yergler; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Myra (Ed) Herrmann of East Peoria and Sandy (Ralph) Bauer of East Peoria.

Dean was a charter member of Trinity Church in Watseka. He owned and operated Dean’s Jewelry in Cissna Park for ten years and later became an insurance broker for forty years. He was a 1957 graduate of Cissna Park High School and most notably an avid Cubs fan.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Trinity Church in Watseka. Pastor Ryan Mustered will officiate. Burial will follow at Cissna Park Cemetery.
