John W. "Bill" Pollom, 80, of Onarga

John W. “Bill” Pollom, 80, of Onarga passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at his residence. He was born on April 13, 1942 in Williamsport, Indiana, a son of James and Helen (High) Pollom. Bill married Patsy Kincade on November 24, 1964 in Rossville and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Jane (Shawn) Hughes of Danville and Billie Jo Pollom (Scott Pflaumer) of Watseka; one son, Robert Lee (Tisha) Lane of Murphysboro; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Lane of Gilman; three grandchildren, Teresa (Kevin) Blacker of Catlin, Jamie Fanning (Bill Wallace) of Pekin, and Levi Lane of Ashkum; three great-grandchildren, William Wallace, Amelia Blacker, and August Blacker; five sisters, Mary Jo Lucas of Attica, Indiana, Peg (Jerry) McCoskey of Pine Village, Indiana, Carole (Tim) Johnson of Paxton, Penny (Bill) Cahoe of Muncie, Indiana, and Sherry (Sean) Gardner of Gibson City; and his loyal dog, Sam whom he called “Sambo”.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Jr and Jimmy Dean; one son, Danny Lane; and one daughter, Teresa Jo Lane.

Bill worked as a Construction Manager at Bakery Feeds in Darling Industries. Bill loved Nascar, antique tractors, and go carts. He also enjoyed time spent fishing. Bill especially loved gardening and sharing what he had grown with neighbors.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford with Rev. Brent Zastrow officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior beginning at 9:00 a.m. Military rites will be by the Watseka American Legion Post 23.

Memorials may be given to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
