Dennis W. Harms, 90, of Crescent City

Dennis W. Harms, 90, of Crescent City passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Faith Place in Danforth. He was born at home on September 18, 1931 south of Crescent City, a son of John and Ruth (Boughan) Harms. He married Helen Ahlden on May 5, 1951 in Woodworth at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Harms of Crescent City, three sons, David (Joyce) Harms of Vancouver, Washington, Keith (Jannette) Harms of Delavan, Wisconsin and Kevin (Tina) Harms of Paxton; daughter-in-law, Pam Harms of Watseka; grandchildren, Katie Robertson, Kyle Harms, Ira Harms, Byron Harms, Ahlden, Tal and Hank Harms, Jon Harms, Josh Harms and Jake Harms; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Harms; twin sister, Doris Kuhlman; and son, Jeff Harms.

Dennis was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Crescent City. He was a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood, served as the church janitor for many years and loved to play on the church Dartball League. He worked for Crescent City Grade School for many years as the janitor and maintenance. Dennis loved to fish and enjoyed raising rabbits and sheep. He loved to spend time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Crescent City with Pastor Joel Brown officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery south of Crescent City.

Memorials may be made to the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Crescent City or to Faith Place in Danforth.
Arrangements are by the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
